Chocolate Mochi

It was for a Valentine's Day dessert...No blames if its AGAIN chocolate eh?

Original recipe uses Nutella fillings but I thought it'd be as nice with Peanut Butter so I tried both (or even mixed both inside one mochi); and they turned out ... wow...!!

Ingredients:
1&1/2 cups Sticky-Rice Flour
1&1/2 cups Water
1/2 cup Sugar
1/2 cup Cacao Powder
Nutella/Peanut Butter

Methods:
1) Mix the flour with water and microwave for 5mins
2) In a seperate bowl, mix the sugar and cacao powder
3) Add the cacao mixture (in 2/3times) to #1 and mix well until smooth and chocolately colored
4) Put #3 back in microwave for another 5mins
5) When #4 is done, let it rest for about 10mins or until its slightly cooled
6) Flour your hand & plate to minimise the stickiness of the dough when forming the mochi
7) Take a scoop of mochi dough, flatten it like a pizza base, put about a teaspoon of nutella or peanut butter in the middle and fold the ends together to form a ball shape.

Note 1: If possible, harden the nutella in fridge before use would make your life easier when forming the mochi

Note 2: I couldnt free my hands to take any pix while struggling with the sticky-messy dough, but do trust me that its all worth it... kekekeke

Orange-Choco Truffles

Valentine's Day is approaching very soon~~
Let's give little sweet surprises to my sweeties... emmm ... I am just so in the mood of truffles lately;

Methods:
1) Finely chop 200g Chocolate (my choice: Valrhona, 66% cacao)
2) Bring 100ml cream just to a boil; remove from heat

3) Add the chopped chocolate and stir gently

4) Add 50g Unsalted Butter (in 2/3 times) into the mixture and keep stirring until all butter are melted without lumps

5) Add 1.5tbsp of Cointreau (could be 2tbsp if you like stronger taste of liqueur); stir until the mixture is nice and smooth

6) Pour them into a container (covered with baking sheet) and set into fridge for at least over-night time

7) Lastly, cut them into shapes of your choice and dust cacao powder as coating and ENJOY~ =)

Pancakes (not) on the The Rocks

From time to time I ask the same question: "Where to find Pancakes in HK?"; Unfortunately, up till now it still remains unanswered!

Instead of asking around; I thought the other day, why not try my luck to make some? And here it is:

Couldnt find any chocolate syrup as topping; but thanks to the melting vanilla ice-cream, it definately did a great job~~

Though my pancake was far from the ones in The Rocks... it was still a nice brunch to have~~!!
